DOWNitUP desktop is a free, ad-free beta distributed as a versioned binary. This installer is not currently code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may show an unrecognized-app warning. Verify its SHA-256 checksum in the release manifest and proceed only if you downloaded it from the official release link.

Download and locate the file
Locate the downloaded DOWNitUP-1.0.1.msi file in your browser's download bar or Downloads folder.
Launch the installer
Double-click the installer program to start the installation wizard.
Click "More Info"
When the blue Windows Defender SmartScreen window pops up warning that Microsoft Defender prevented an unrecognized app, click the small More info link directly under the warning text.
Select "Run anyway"
Once you click "More info", a new button labeled Run anyway will appear at the bottom right. Click it to proceed with setup.
Confirm system prompts
If Windows prompts you with User Account Control (UAC) to allow the installer to make changes, click Yes.
Complete installation
Follow the onscreen prompts in the setup wizard. The installer will place a shortcut on your desktop, and you can launch DOWNitUP instantly without any further warnings.
Getting Started After Install
Add your first download
Open DOWNitUP and paste any HTTP or HTTPS link to add it to your queue. You can also paste a magnet link, and DOWNitUP will handle it as a torrent download with no extra setup required.
Find your downloaded files
Finished downloads are saved to your Downloads folder by default. You can open the containing folder for any completed item directly from the app, or change the save location in the settings.
Speed and resume, handled for you
DOWNitUP splits supported downloads into multiple connections that run in parallel, which is how it reaches speeds far beyond a single browser download. If your connection drops or your PC restarts, interrupted downloads resume from where they stopped instead of starting over.
Troubleshooting
Windows SmartScreen shows a warning
SmartScreen flags apps that are new or not yet widely downloaded, even when they are perfectly safe. Because this beta release is unsigned, Windows will show the warning initially. Click More info, then Run anyway to continue with the installation.
The installer won't run
The Windows build of DOWNitUP is a 64-bit installer. Make sure you downloaded the 64-bit .msi file and that you are running a 64-bit edition of Windows 10 or 11, which covers virtually all modern PCs.
Downloads are slower than expected
Slow speeds are usually caused by the server, your network, or other apps competing for bandwidth rather than the download manager itself. See our guide on how to speed up slow downloads for practical fixes.
